Our Molinillo is a traditional Mexican kitchen tool, hand carved from solid wood with darker shading formed through burns. A molinillo is designed to create rich, frothy pots of hot chocolate when made with milk and solid chocolate.
To use: place solid handle between palms, and rub between them, the smooth pestle bottom softens and grinds chocolate as it dissolves in hot milk. The loose rings aid in whipping air into hot chocolate and eventually results in frothy top. Wood naturally darkens with use. Wash immediately after use in warm soapy water. Each is one-of-a-kind and may vary in size.
